#CleanSafeCity #SmartCitySolutions —– #Tlalnepantla, #StateOfMexico.- The government of Tlalnepantla, under the leadership of Mayor Raciel Pérez Cruz, has executed a comprehensive operational pivot in public services, establishing them as the cornerstone of a more liveable, secure, and sustainable urban environment. Confronted with a legacy of neglected infrastructure and financial irresponsibility, the administration has successfully implemented a series of “diverse actions and operations” to dramatically enhance the quality of life for its residents. This ambitious recovery effort demonstrates a clear commitment to “confronting inherited difficulties” by restoring the city’s operational capacity and ensuring efficient delivery across all municipal services.
A key immediate victory involved tackling the catastrophic state of the vehicle fleet, which was initially found to be virtually “scrapped and unusable”, severely hindering efficient refuse collection. Through a strict approach to “financial responsibility” and a vigorous fight against corruption, the administration financed the procurement of 70 brand-new refuse trucks. These modern vehicles now service all 265 communities in Tlalnepantla, having collected a staggering 152,737 tonnes of urban solid waste deposited at the Municipal Sanitary Landfill this year.
Addressing a persistent and deeply felt citizen grievance, the General Directorate of Public Services and Urban Maintenance launched extensive repair works to improve road safety. Focusing specifically on the crucial issue of pothole remediation, the Directorate successfully intervened across an impressive 45,088 square metres of road surface to ensure smoother and more secure mobility for motorists. This proactive maintenance effort is a direct response to public demand, bolstering the city’s infrastructure and reducing risks to drivers.

Furthermore, Mayor Pérez Cruz initiated numerous patrols across neighbourhoods, towns, and developments, simultaneously appealing to inhabitants to cease the “illegal depositing of rubble” on public thoroughfares. Through dedicated enforcement operations, the municipal teams cleared 569 tonnes of hazardous material, which had previously obstructed pavements and avenues, thereby safeguarding the well-being of both pedestrians and commuters.
In parallel, the Directorate of Environmental Sustainability directly responded to complaints regarding illegally placed items by launching the “Calle Libre” (Free Street) initiative. This targeted public policy resulted in the removal of 2,000 abandoned items, or bienes mostrencos, equating to over 7 tonnes of objects, alongside the intervention and voluntary removal of 638 vehicles that were illegally cluttering the city’s thoroughfares.
These coordinated efforts prove that the 2025–2027 Administration is not only stabilising public finances but is also delivering tangible results, confirming that “Tlalnepantla Renace” (Tlalnepantla is Reborn).
