Claudia Sheinbaum celebrates record exports and growth in construction / @Claudiashein @GobiernoMX >>>

(#EconomyMX#Exports) *** #FederalGovernment, #Mexico.- President #ClaudiaSheinbaumPardo announced that Mexico reached a new record in foreign trade, with 709 billion #Dollars in exports, and highlighted the rebound of #IndustrialActivity during April. In her morning address, the head of state linked these results to the reactivation of production chains and logistical modernization. The message, delivered at «#LasMañanerasDelPueblo«, underscored the contribution of public and private investment to the observed dynamism. The combination of robust figures and stimulus policies was presented as evidence of sustained recovery.

The official report indicates a 2.1% growth in industrial activity, driven notably by the construction industry, which recorded an increase close to 7%. According to the government’s presentation, this momentum stems both from infrastructure projects and from rising housing demand. Experts consulted attribute part of the growth to the normalization of supply chains and targeted tax incentives. Maintaining investment in fixed capital will be essential to consolidate the trend.

In parallel, the Executive highlighted that the tourism sector reached historic figures in the first quarter of 2026, with 34.5 million foreign visitors, and that in April 3.81 million international tourists entered the country. These flows, the Presidency indicated, strengthen foreign currency generation and regional employment in beach destinations and cultural centers. The balance between exports and tourism, according to the official narrative, contributes to diversifying growth sources. The administration insisted that coordination between public policies and the private sector is decisive.

Recent official reports related to the economy point out that the trade balance showed signs of improvement and that there is an increase in foreign direct investment, accompanied by a rebound in business confidence. Government statements add that the continuity of infrastructure programs will sustain demand in construction. These references suggest a convergence of factors that could support growth.

In summary, the Executive presents these data as signs of a broader recovery, with exports and tourism as central pillars. The immediate challenge is to turn that momentum into stable employment and greater productivity.
