In Edomex, Tultitlán launches a special operation for the Day of the Dead, coordinated by Commissioner Roberto Escobar Calderón / @25_27Tultitlan >>>

(#DayOfTheDead – #CitizenSecurity) *** #TultitlánDEMarianoEscobedo, #StateOfMexico.- With a preventive deterrence strategy and a perimeter security plan, the #GovernmentOfTultitlán, through the Directorate of Citizen Security and Road Safety, headed by #RobertoEscobarCalderón, is preparing a special security operation for November 1 and 2. The operation will cover cemeteries, commercial areas, and places frequented by families, with measures aimed at maintaining peace and order throughout the festivities. As a well-known saying attributed to Benjamin Franklin reminds us, “An ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”; therefore, the strategy also includes community outreach and #Prevention initiatives.

The security operation will combine foot and vehicle patrols with aerial surveillance using tactical drones at cemeteries, markets, street markets, and flower-selling locations. This territorial coverage will expand surveillance capabilities, while operational planning and anticipation will help identify potential risks in crowded areas. Traffic restrictions around cemeteries and patrols in outlying areas are also planned to deter vehicle theft. When presenting the measures, Roberto Escobar Calderón stated: “We are ready.”

The municipality’s preparations coincide with a state-level security deployment announced for the period from October 31 to November 2, 2026, involving 1,800 security personnel across the 125 municipalities of the State of Mexico and surveillance at 553 cemeteries. The state plan includes operational units, tactical drones, and coordination with municipal law enforcement agencies, while in Tultitlán, interinstitutional cooperation and risk management will be essential to address the specific needs of the celebration. “We will work closely and in coordination with the different law enforcement agencies,” said Roberto Escobar Calderón, explaining the goal of combining resources and capabilities to prevent incidents.

“This is a joint effort aimed at identifying and mitigating risk factors,” emphasized Roberto Escobar Calderón.

In my opinion, coordination among security departments, Civil Protection, and commercial regulatory authorities is an essential way to strengthen public confidence during one of Tultitlán’s most deeply rooted traditions. From a community perspective, preparedness and joint efforts are valuable elements in promoting peaceful coexistence, protecting families, and ensuring more peaceful visits to cemeteries.

Through these actions, Mayor Ana Castro Fernández and Roberto Escobar Calderón are placing prevention and institutional cooperation at the heart of preparations for the Day of the Dead. As Bruce Schneier stated, “Security is a process, not a product”; a timely reminder that peace of mind is also built through shared responsibility. #SafeTultitlán.
