SICT and Government of Mexico City sign agreement for Mexico-Toluca Interurban Train

#SecretaríaDeInfraestructuraComunicacionesYTransporte.- In order to give continuity to the construction of the Toluca-Valle de México Interurban Passenger Train, the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) and the government of Mexico City signed a Coordination Agreement for the Reallocation of Resources for 950 million pesos.

These resources will be applied to works on the double-track railway section originating at the exit of the tunnels on the Mexico-Toluca Highway with a station in Santa Fe and a terminal at the Observatorio Integral Transfer Center, called «Túnel Metro Observatorio» (Observatorio Metro Tunnel).

The agreement, signed by the head of the SICT, Civil Engineer Jorge Arganis Díaz-Leal and the head of government of Mexico City, Dr. Claudia Sheinbaum Pardo, which will be in force until December 31 of this year, was published today, Thursday, in the Official Gazette of the Federation.

This will give continuity to the works for the construction of the track, catenary and communication systems in the section called «Túnel Metro Observatorio» of 16+935 kilometers long in Mexico City, which starts at kilometer 40+765 and ends at kilometer 57+700, which is part of the comprehensive passenger transportation project.
