SICT and Edomex agree on agreement to promote road corridor in the eastern zone of the Valley of Mexico

#SecretaríaDeInfraestructuraComunicacionesYTransporte.- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) and the State of Mexico signed an agreement to establish the basis for the coordination of actions for the development and implementation of the project to improve the interconnection and mobility between Mexico City and the State of Mexico, particularly in the Eastern Zone of the Valley of Mexico.

The objective of the agreement is to improve mobility conditions and respond to the demand for public transportation in the road corridor that connects Valle de Chalco to the Santa Martha area.

In view of this, the development of an infrastructure in the mass transportation system that connects Mexico City and the State of Mexico has been proposed, consisting of the project «Corridor with high capacity buses of the Chalco-Santa Martha Trolleybus type».

The agreement establishes that the project is a work of public interest, aligned with the priority objectives for national development and that it will have an impact on two states (Mexico City and the State of Mexico), and part of it will be implemented in areas under federal jurisdiction.
