México committed to the T-MEC admits the U.S. settlement of its review of Manufacturas VU, S. de R.L. de C.V.

#SecretaríaDeEconomía.- The Ministry of Economy, on behalf of the Government of Mexico, sent today to the Office of the United States Trade Representative a communication indicating that the request for review received on July 21, regarding an alleged denial of freedom of association and collective bargaining rights at the plant of Manufacturas VU, S. de R.L. de C.V., located in Piedras Negras, Coahuila, was admitted.

Based on this response, the Ministry of Economy, in coordination with the Ministry of Labor and Social Welfare, and other agents involved, will review the case to determine whether or not there is a denial of labor rights in accordance with the provisions set forth in the Mexico-United States-Canada Agreement (T-MEC).

The Government of Mexico reiterates its commitment to the effective application of the provisions established in the T-MEC and in domestic legislation, thereby guaranteeing transparency and certainty for Mexican workers.
