Mexican President proposes citizen consultation on National Guard and permanence of Armed Forces in public security tasks / @lopezobrador_ @GobiernoMX >>>

#GobiernoDeMéxico.- President Andrés Manuel López proposed a citizen consultation so that the people can evaluate the performance of the National Guard and the permanence of the Armed Forces in public security tasks until 2028.

«The best thing is to make a consultation to the citizens, that it is not a cupular matter (…) Let the people decide, of course, that we have time to debate, to continue giving information», he stressed.

In a morning press conference, the Chief Executive presented the three questions that would be part of the exercise; if necessary, he said, they will be reformulated in a balanced and simple way:

Do you agree with the creation of the National Guard and with its performance so far?
Do you consider that the Armed Forces, the Army and the Navy, should remain doing public security work until 2028 or that they return to their barracks in March 2024?
What is your opinion: should the National Guard become part of the Ministry of National Defense or depend on the Ministry of the Interior or Public Security?
