#SICT.- Construction of the Barranca Larga-Ventanilla highway is 83.85 percent complete and will have 10 bridges, three tunnels, two toll booths, two viaducts and 15 junctions. In addition, it will boost the state’s tourism and economic development and reduce users’ travel costs by reducing travel times from 6 to 2.5 hours, informed Jorge Nuño Lara, head of the SICT, and Jorge Mendoza Sánchez, general director of the Banco Nacional de Obras y Servicios Públicos (Banobras).

In the framework of a supervision overflight by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, Jorge Nuño Lara, said that the work is part of the Oaxaca-Puerto Escondido-Huatulco highway and has a total length of 104.3 kilometers.

It is worth mentioning that both officials, from the SICT and Banobras, emphasized that the work will be completed by the end of 2022.

The project will benefit more than 100,777 inhabitants of 11 communities in the region, as well as the municipalities of Santa María Coatlán and Santa María Colotepec.

Resources for the project are estimated at 8,234 million pesos. The investment is being made through the Fondo Nacional de Infraestructura (Fonadin) administered by the Banco Nacional de Obras y Servicios Públicos (Banobras).
