#SanMiguelDeAllende, #Gto.- By joining the global campaign «Clean Seas» and the «New Plastics Community», the Municipal Government joins the United Nations (UN) for the care of the environment.

In this way, San Miguel de Allende is the first municipality without a beach to commit to the health of the Mexican seas, through strategies and actions so that citizens are informed and participate in this global cause.

Through the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP), the Municipal Government regulates the management, use and final disposal of solid urban waste (domestic and commercial garbage), promotes the elimination of plastic packaging and unnecessary or problematic plastic products, disseminates awareness campaigns for groups of merchants and the general population, and trains the commercial sector to replace plastics in product packaging and distribution.

For the following year, «green points» will be installed for the selective separation of garbage, conditions to guarantee its separation, establish a surveillance route and finance environmental preservation actions.
