The Mexican Ministry of Economy extends the extension for the suspension of duties on ammonium sulfate imports / @SE_mx >>>

#SecretaríaDeEconomía.- The Mexican government continues to implement actions to combat inflation and high food prices for the benefit of all sectors of the population. Given the global geopolitical situation regarding the decrease of raw materials at a global level, particularly fertilizers and fertilizer inputs such as ammonium sulfate, there has been an increase in their prices and an increase in the inflation rate of agricultural products. For this reason, the Ministry of Economy extends the extension for the suspension of the anti-dumping duty on imports of ammonium sulfate from the United States and the People’s Republic of China until November 24, 2023.

The above, in order to give continuity to the policy of increasing grain production, reducing inflation and avoiding the fall in consumption of Mexican households through the Agreement that suspends the collection of countervailing duties imposed on imports of ammonium sulfate originating in the United States of America and the People’s Republic of China, regardless of the country of origin for the suspension of the collection of such countervailing duties that was published on May 24, 2022 and is effective until November 24, 2022.

It is important to remember that in 2015 these countervailing duties were established on imports of ammonium sulfate originating from the United States of America and the People’s Republic of China, regardless of the country of origin, due to the fact that unfair international trade practices were identified. These duties are effective until 2025, according to a resolution published on March 31, 2022 in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF).
