Vaccination against Human Papilloma Virus begins in Guerrero / @Gob_Guerrero @EvelynSalgadoP >>>

#EstadoDeGuerrero.- To reduce the incidence of cervical cancer, the Ministry of Health of Guerrero (SSG) through the Undersecretary of Prevention and Disease Control and the Directorate of Epidemiology launched the Vaccination Campaign against Human Papillomavirus (HPV), in which 71,699 doses will be applied in 1,645 public and private high schools.

Girls in the 1st and 2nd grades of secondary school and 13 and 14 year olds from different regions of the state will benefit from this campaign, which began on November 24 and will conclude on December 9, providing coverage throughout the state, as the campaign is being carried out simultaneously in each health jurisdiction.

At the start of the vaccination campaign that began at the «Cuauhtémoc» High School in the municipality of Ometepec, attended by the Director of Epidemiology and Preventive Medicine of the Ministry of Health of Guerrero (SSG), Rufino Silva Dominguez, representing the Secretary of Health, Aidé Ibarez Castro, as well as the Head of the Health Jurisdiction 06 Costa Chica, Roy Moreno Juanche, as well as local authorities.

There the jurisdictional chief stressed that the objective of the vaccination campaign is the prevention of cervical cancer and thus avoid death in women, he stressed that this vaccine helps protect certain types of the virus that can cause cancer, he explained that for people from 9 to 14 two vaccines are needed, the second dose is applied six months after the first application.
