#SECTUR.- The head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) highlighted that, based on the results of the International Travelers Survey published by INEGI, between January and October 2022, 30 million 716 thousand international tourists entered the country, which represents 21.5% more compared to what was captured in 2021; being 15.8% away from reaching the 36 million 465 thousand international tourists that entered in the same period of 2019.

He pointed out that the average expenditure of international tourists in the January-October 2022 period was 691 dollars, which is 24.1% more compared to 2021, and also surpassing by 37.1% the 504.1 dollars recorded in the same period of 2019.

Torruco Marqués reported that, in the first 10 months of 2022, 17 million 166 thousand inbound tourists arrived to Mexico via air, this represents 55.6% more compared to 2021, also surpassing with 7.5% the inbound tourists via air captured in the same period of 2019, which were 15 million 962 thousand tourists.

He commented that foreign exchange income from inbound tourists via air from January to October 2022 had an increase of 55.5% compared to 2021, by registering 19 billion 113 million dollars, and an increase of 18% compared to the 16 billion 200 million dollars captured in the same period of 2019.
