#Edoméx.- The Consolidation Body of the Criminal Justice System of the State of Mexico is making progress in the inter-institutional coordination for the application of electronic locators that will allow the substitution of the precautionary measure of informal pre-trial detention in specific cases.

During the First Extraordinary Session of the Operating Tables of the Organ for the Consolidation of the Criminal Justice System, the General Director of the Public Defense Institute (IDP), Leticia Cisneros stated that in addition to protecting the human rights of the population, the aim is to depressurize the prevention and social reinsertion centers for people who allegedly committed non-serious crimes.

«It is reduced exclusively to the issue of the use of bracelets to prevent the entry of some people who have committed a crime, either in flagrante delicto or in the case of a change of precautionary measure, and to promote the depressurization of the penitentiary centers in the State of Mexico,» informed the Technical Secretary of the Consolidation Body.

She explained that they seek to reinforce the links between the Judicial Power (PJEM), the Ministry of Security (SS), the Attorney General’s Office of the State of Mexico (FGJEM) and the Public Defender’s Office, in order to know the full scope of the imposition or substitution of the precautionary measure of informal pre-trial detention.
