With the passage of the Civil Aviation Act, CAIA is ready for final FAA audit / @jorgenunol @SCT_mx >>>
#SICT.- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) through the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC) informs that, after the approval of the Civil Aviation Law, the final audit will be scheduled with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of the United States to recover the Category 1 in aviation safety.
The steps to be followed to conclude the last stage of evaluation before the US authorities are as follows:
Step 1
The reform made to the Civil Aviation Law must be published in the Official Gazette of the Federation (DOF), which will allow the closure of the 3 missing «non-conformities».
It should be noted that, the 3 pending «non-conformities» refer to: laws that allow regulating and overseeing the certification and continuous supervision of medical evaluations of aviation personnel; conducting regulatory investigations after every aviation accident and incident; and giving the CAIA legal and regulatory authority to issue medical certificates.
Step 2
Once the 3 «non-conformities» have been resolved, the CAIA will request the FAA, through appropriate diplomatic channels, to conduct the IASA audit.
Step 3
Once the IASA audit is completed, the FAA will issue a report of the results. In case of findings, these shall be immediately addressed by the CFIA.
Step 4
The FAA, upon confirming full compliance with the findings of the IASA audit, will issue the final report through the appropriate diplomatic channels, communicating the recovery of the Aviation Safety Category 1.
