#SE.- The Ministries of Public Education (SEP) and Economy (SE) inaugurated the Summit on Higher Education and the High Tech Industry: Redefining the challenges and participation in the digital era, with the aim of promoting and boosting the advancement of education and technological innovation in Mexico.

Leticia Ramírez Amaya, Minister of Education, stated that Mexico’s labor force is characterized by being increasingly better prepared, thanks to Higher Education Institutions; proof of this is that the average schooling of Mexicans has increased steadily and went from 7.4 to 9.7 years, and that despite the pandemic, not only has it been sustained, but enrollment has grown in recent years.

At the Palacio de Minería in Mexico City, where the summit is being held, the head of the SEP stated that all the technicians and professionals currently being trained in Mexico are the human talent required by national companies and now also by foreign companies seeking to relocate to the country.

In the presence of academics, businessmen, leaders and specialists in technology and innovation, the head of the SEP pointed out that for this reason, support is currently being provided so that young people can continue studying and that socioeconomic factors are not an impediment so that everyone can enter, stay in school and complete their studies. «The government of the Fourth Transformation delivers scholarships to more than 12 million students.»
