#BenitoJuárez, #CDMX.- In view of the alleged implementation of an «operation» by the National Guard in Benito Juarez, recognized as the safest district in Mexico City and second among the municipalities throughout the country, the Mayor’s Office informs that there is no extraordinary situation that warrants the implementation of a security device.

In this sense, in the event that such «operation» is being implemented, at this moment there is no notification of this fact from the National Guard commander on duty, who has been changed several times in Benito Juarez, even when he was present at the meeting of the Security Cabinet that takes place on Mondays of each week.

It is worth mentioning that the National Guard makes patrols in the streets of the district on board two units for 2 to 3 hours, without any arrests having been made in the whole time they have been in the municipality.

Likewise, the Benito Juarez Mayor’s Office states that it has not requested the special intervention of an «operation» of the National Guard, since the security strategy Blindar BJ, implemented since the first administration of Mayor Santiago Taboada, has positioned the district with the highest rate of positive perception of security in the CDMX for three consecutive years, according to INEGI, thanks to the coordinated work with the Secretariat of Citizen Security and Investigation Police, giving positive results on a constant basis.
