#Cultura.- With the aim of raising awareness, increasing respect for the environment and protecting water resources in the tourist area of Cancun, Quintana Roo, the international art exhibition Water for Life, navigating the Great Lakes will host its seventh edition at the Mayan Museum of Cancun, a venue attached to the Ministry of Culture of the Government of Mexico, through the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH).

Water for Life is an artistic and cultural program that exhibits a series of works of art inspired by water around the world, with the purpose of raising people’s awareness of the need to ensure the vital drinking liquid for the future.

The works, which will be on display from June 28 to August 6, 2023, are a unique and exclusive collection of landscapes captured while navigating the five interconnected freshwater Great Lakes located between Canada and the United States.

Through art and history, water links this exhibition with Mexico, thanks to the support of muralist Rina Lazo, who worked with the famous Mexican painter Diego Rivera in the creation of the underwater mural El agua, origen de la vida, inside the decorated tank of the Lerma River’s sump in Mexico City.

For this exhibition, the Water for Life organization has the support of the UNESCO Center in Florence, Italy, as well as INAH, the municipal government of Cancun and the state of Quintana Roo.
