#Ecatepec, #Edoméx.- The president of the municipal DIF system of Ecatepec, Esmeralda Vallejo Martínez, is leading the efforts before the National Institute of Anthropology and History (INAH), to recover the archaeological pieces that were stolen from the municipality.
Esmeralda Vallejo indicated that the necessary steps will be taken to recover the various objects that by historical right belong to the people of Ecatepenses.
She explained that after the celebration of the INAH FEST cultural festival, held at the Casa de Morelos Community Center, she has maintained direct contact with INAH representatives, who were informed that these archaeological pieces are in the Colegio Mexiquense, in the Mexica room of the National Museum of Anthropology and History and the Mexiquense Institute of Culture of the State of Mexico.
In addition to the pieces that are in the College of Scientific and Technological Studies of the State of Mexico (CECYTEM) campus Ecatepec, where an archaeological salvage is located, discovered when the buildings of this institution were built on the slopes of the hill of Ehecatl.
Vallejo Martinez said that the people of Ecatepec will have these objects back, just as the mammoth skeleton found in 1995 in the Ejidos de San Cristobal neighborhood was returned to the municipality, which is currently exhibited in a room of the Casa de Morelos for the delight of the people of Ecatepec and visitors to the museum.
She pointed out that the municipal government continues working on the creation of the Cultural Route of Ecatepec, which includes visits to the Albarradón, the historic Puente de Fierro, the Casa de Morelos Community Center, the old mansion of the first Red Cross of the municipality and soon the anthropological site museum.
