Inauguration of «Our Collections: A New Reading, A New Experience» in the MAHG / @diegosinhue @gobiernogto >>>

#EstadoDeGuanajuato.- «The Museum of Art and History of Guanajuato and the Guanajuato Cultural Forum remain at the forefront. They are always looking for innovative ways to show art and attract more public».

So said the Governor of the State, Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo, at the opening of the exhibition «Our Collections: A New Reading, A New Experience», at the Museum of Art and History of Guanajuato (MAHG).

On the occasion of the 15th anniversary of this precinct, founded on November 27, 2008, the second hall of the Regional Culture Room has become a new exhibition room: the Collections Room.

This new curatorship proposes a tour divided into two aspects: In the first, the public can dialogue with Guanajuato art through pieces dating from the 19th century to the present.

The selection consists of approximately 100 works by artists such as Hermenegildo Bustos (1832-1907), Efrén Hernández (1904-1958) and Jazzamoart (1951), to name a few.

In the second line, visitors will find part of the sculptural corpus known as the Greek Canon, a didactic room made up of pieces that are reproductions of important Greek and Roman works, whose originals date from the 6th century BC to the 3rd century AD.
