Successful tour of Chihuahua concludes with agreements on connectivity, infrastructure and investments / @TorrucoTurismo @SECTUR_mx >>>

#SECTUR.- Accompanied by Chihuahua’s Secretary of Tourism, Edibray Gómez Gallegos, on behalf of Governor Maria Eugenia Campos Galván, the head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) presented the updated Magical Town designation to the municipal president of Bocoyna, Macario Hermosillo Pompa, which he obtained in 2007, and thanks to the joint efforts of state and local authorities, the private sector and civil society, continues to maintain.

To further beautify this destination, the federal and state tourism secretaries signed an agreement to implement the Magical Routes of Color program in Creel, through which 140 house facades and 20 artistic murals will be painted on 600 square meters, depicting the «spirit» of the destination.

Torruco Marqués pointed out that this town has a great history and tradition, founded in 1907, and is recognized for being the gateway to the Sierra Tarahumara and the impressive Copper Canyon, which is four times larger and twice as deep as the Grand Colorado Canyon in Arizona, USA.

«Creel is a true jewel that not only offers us snowy and desert landscapes, but also attractions such as the main square, which dates back to the 19th century; the neo-Gothic style Church of Christ the King; the Valley of the Monks, peculiar rock formations; the Museum of Tarahumara Culture; or Lake Arareco, a favorite place for ecotourism, to mention a few.

He indicated that it also has a station on the route of the «Chihuahua-Pacific Train», better known as «El Chepe», which crosses the spectacular Copper Canyon, home of the Rarámuris.
