Mexican specialists offer knowledge and experience in health to counterparts in Chile / @aliciabarcena @SRE_mx >>>

#SRE.- On Tuesday, the Mexican mission arrived in Mexico, made up of 26 professionals from the Ministries of Health and the Navy, which for 20 days provided humanitarian aid to the Republic of Chile to attend to pediatric patients and carry out training and exchange of experiences with their Chilean counterparts.

A delegation headed by the General Director of Epidemiology, Gabriel García Rodríguez, also traveled to Chile to deliver the support equipment.

It is worth mentioning that the humanitarian mission is a response to the diplomatic letter sent to the Secretary of Health of Mexico, Jorge Alcocer Varela by the Minister of Health of Chile, Ximena Aguilera Sanhueza, in which she referred to the increase in respiratory cases and the identification of the unprecedented outbreak of respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) in children.

Leading the arrival ceremony of the team of medical professionals at the Mexico City International Airport (AICM) «Benito Juarez», Secretary Alcocer Varela highlighted that, with great enthusiasm, the members of the Mexican mission responded to the call «from our Chilean brothers and sisters to offer their knowledge and experience to provide support to face the health crisis caused by the respiratory syncytial virus».
