#GobiernoDeMéxico.- The Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) created in record time the integral electrical system of the electrified double track of the Mayan Train, which will run 690 kilometers from Merida, Yucatan to Chetumal, Quintana Roo, which means 44 percent of the 1,554 kilometers that make up the total route in five southeastern states.
«Never before has a system of this magnitude and dimensions been built in such a short time. With this system, the southeast is integrated with national development», highlighted the General Director of the Federal Electricity Commission, Manuel Bartlett Díaz, in a morning press conference with President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

In a video presented by the head of the CFE, it was stated that the public company generates the necessary infrastructure for the electrical operation of the Mayan Train based on an investment of more than 8 billion pesos and the creation of 5,500 direct jobs and more than 8,000 indirect jobs.

The CFE will supply the towns surrounding the project and will electrify all the services required by the Mayan Train: booths, offices, maintenance bases, stops, stations, workshops and garages.

It will build 53 major infrastructure works for the electrical operation of the convoys, including the construction of transmission lines and seven traction substations to drive their movement. It also develops the physical connections between the traction substations and the train’s catenary, i.e., the overhead cables that directly feed it with electric power.
