AFAC initiates investigation into Cessna crash in Veracruz / @jorgenunol @SCT_mx >>>

#SICT.- The Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC), a decentralized agency of the Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT), initiated the corresponding investigation into the crash of a Cessna 650 aircraft, registration number XB – VFJ, in the vicinity of the port of Veracruz.

The aircraft with airworthiness certificate number 20221013, expiring on October 20, 2023, took off yesterday at 20:49 hours from the Heriberto Jara Corona International Airport of Veracruz to the International Airport of Toluca, State of Mexico. Unfortunately, the wreckage was located in waters near the port itself.

In command was pilot Héctor Priego, license number 202167324, and co-pilot Jorge Gerardo Rubi, license number 200102996. Passenger Daniel Flores is also reported. No bodies have been located.

The aircraft had all the documentation in order to operate, according to AFAC records.

So far, search and rescue efforts are being carried out by Civil Protection personnel and the Heriberto Jara Corona International Airport of the port of Veracruz.
