Hotel occupancy recorded 60% in 70 tourist destinations in México in the first half of 2023 / @TorrucoTurismo @SECTUR_mx >>>
#SECTUR.- The head of the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR) informed that the arrival of tourists to hotel rooms, from January to June 2023, was 42 million tourists; of which 30.2 million were domestic tourists, that is 72% of the total; while 11.8 million were foreign tourists, representing 28%.
He specified that cities registered 22.8 million tourists to hotel rooms, while beach resorts received 19.2 million tourists to hotel rooms, during January-June 2023.
Torruco Marqués indicated that, in the beach resorts, the occupancy level in the first half of 2023 was 69.4%, which means an increase of 3.4 percentage points, with respect to the same period of 2022, when 66% occupancy was recorded.
He pointed out that, in the first six months of the year, in city destinations, the occupancy rate registered 51.7%, which in relation to the 44.9% recorded between January and June 2022, means an increase of 6.8 percentage points.
He highlighted that the highest occupancy rates were in the Integrally Planned Centers (CIP) with 74.3%, and the lowest occupancy rates were in the interior cities with 46.7%, in the first half of 2023.
