#SECTUR.- Accompanied by the Consul General of Mexico in San Francisco, Remedios Gómez Arnau, and the delegation that made up the tour, the head of the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR) visited Oakland International Airport, where he held an important meeting with Craig Simon, Interim Director of Aviation, and John Albrecht, Director of Marketing of the airport, with whom they agreed on actions to increase the number of routes and frequencies to our country.

It was indicated that Oakland International Airport currently has 4 direct connections to Mexico, these are to Mexico City, Guadalajara, Silao and Morelia, with Volaris; and 4 more operated by Southwest to Cancun, Mexico City, San Jose del Cabo and Puerto Vallarta.

It was also reported that this airport is the fourth largest in California, with more than 11 million passengers per year, and the fastest growing airport in the state in the last two years.

As part of the activities of Operation Knock on Doors in San Francisco, Torruco Marqués and the Mexican delegation participated in an interesting dialogue with young Mexican professionals and entrepreneurs from the technology sector at the Kapor Center for Entrepreneurship, which was organized by Visit Oakland, the tourism promotion office of this city.
