Issste inaugurates National Basketball Day 2023 in Veracruz / @drpedrozenteno @ISSSTE_mx >>>

#ISSSTE.- The Instituto de Seguridad y Servicios Sociales de los Trabajadores del Estado (Issste) kicked off the National Basketball Day 2023 in Veracruz, with the commitment to promote sports and physical activity as guarantors of health and wellbeing among its beneficiaries.

At the opening ceremony, held at the Veracruz Arena, the Director of Economic, Social and Cultural Benefits, Yezmín Lehmann Mendoza, pointed out that this sporting event is part of the strategy of the Director General, Pedro Zenteno Santaella, to promote the preventive model and encourage a healthy lifestyle among members and their families.

He added that the Government of Mexico promotes sports as an alternative to prevent problems such as addictions and thus be physically and mentally well.

«Through sports we obtain wellbeing for the beneficiaries and, at the same time, we seek a healthier, more active and inclusive society; we strengthen bonds of camaraderie and fellowship among the participants.»

The sports competition will take place from August 22 to 26. It will feature the participation of 400 players from 20 representative offices from the states of: Campeche, Chiapas, Durango, State of Mexico, Hidalgo, Michoacán, Morelos, Oaxaca, Puebla, Querétaro, Quintana Roo, San Luis Potosí, Tabasco, Tlaxcala, Veracruz, Yucatán and Mexico City, from the North, South, West and East zones.
