Mexican Government benefits more than 20 million tourists and 1.3 million inhabitants with strategic works in Cancun / @jorgenunol @SCT_mx >>>

#SICT.- The Government of Mexico inaugurates two strategic road works in Cancun with an investment of 1.5 billion pesos (mdp), which will benefit more than 20 million tourists, as well as 1.3 million inhabitants, said the Secretary of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT), Jorge Nuño Lara.

In a ceremony headed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, the head of the SICT said that the rehabilitation of the Luis Donaldo Colosio Boulevard and the modernization of the Airport Distributor, which are being inaugurated today, two months ahead of schedule, are part of a comprehensive program of strategic projects in Cancun, which includes three other works. Together, these five projects total an investment of more than $9 billion pesos.

The three additional works are the Vehicular Bridge over the Nichupté Lagoon, the Chac Mool roadway and, on instructions from President López Obrador, the Cancun Airport-Maya Train Station connection.

Accompanied by the Governor of Quintana Roo, María Elena Lezama Espinosa, Nuño Lara stated that the construction of the Luis Donaldo Colosio Boulevard and the Airport Distributor generated more than 2,000 direct jobs and more than 8,600 indirect jobs, adding social value to the family economy of more than 1.3 million inhabitants of the region.
