Tecámac commemorates the 198th anniversary of the establishment of the municipality; the municipal civil merit award is presented / @MarielaGtzEsc @MejorTecamac >>>

#Tecámac, #Edoméx.- The mayoress of Tecámac, Mariela Gutiérrez Escalante, led the ceremony of the 198th anniversary of the municipality’s erection and presented the Municipal Civil Merit Award to 33 winners for their contribution to the greatness of this territory.

Accompanied by aldermen, trustees, officials and special guests, she recognized the winners in the nine categories, among them the Bishop of Teotihuacán, Monsignor Guillermo Francisco Escobar Galicia, for his significant contribution to the spiritual growth of the people of Teotihuacán.

She explained that there were more than 300 people who applied for the medal this year, which means that in each edition the number of life stories, examples and models to be followed by others increases.

She highlighted that this year the award for Municipal Strengthening was created, dedicated to the twinning with the municipality of Tenancingo, which is recognized for its agricultural and livestock production, as well as its gastronomy.

In the same category was awarded to the Tecnológico Nacional de México, which is the largest institution of higher education in the country, for having accepted to create the academic unit in Tecámac, which was inaugurated this Tuesday, and which has already begun the training of future industrial, systems and administrative engineers.
