#BocaDelRío, #Ver.- This Wednesday, the Mayor of Boca del Río, Juan Manuel Unánue Abascal, led the Commemoration of the Heroic Deed of the Heroic Deed of the Heroic Children as part of the defense of Chapultepec Castle on September 13, 1847 against the United States Army.

In his speech, the Mayor recalled that Mexico has been built with work, effort and sacrifice of men and women who throughout history have given the best of their lives, but who have also forged our freedom and our national identity with resistance and struggle, defending our sovereignty in the face of threats.

That is why it is fair to remember Cadets Agustín Melgar, Fernando Montes de Oca, Francisco Márquez, Juan Escutia, Vicente Suárez and Second Lieutenant Juan de la Barrera, who gave their lives for a free Homeland.
