At 63 years old, Angeles Verdes is modernizing as never before for the benefit of road tourism / @TorrucoTurismo @SECTUR_mx >>>

#SECTUR.- In commemorating the 63rd Anniversary of the longest-lived Corporation of the Federal Public Administration, the head of the Ministry of Tourism (Sectur) stressed that, after 20 years of neglect, Angeles Verdes had vehicles with more than 900,000 kilometers traveled, 176 had been decommissioned for being unserviceable, had deteriorated uniforms, and zero technology.

He pointed out that the Green Angels have always been Sectur’s best letter of introduction, and for this reason, in the current administration, thanks to the support of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador for this program, they are undergoing an important modernization process, which will conclude with the renewal of the vehicle fleet, among other actions.

He pointed out that by the end of 2023, 40% of the units will have been renewed and by the following year the remaining 60% will have been completed, thanks also to the close collaboration with the state governments, who have committed to contribute with one unit for each vehicle contributed by Sectur.

Mr. Torruco Marqués congratulated the more than 700 members of the Ángeles Verdes (Green Angels) for being faithful and «at the foot of the cannon» as great allies of important road tourism, by providing mechanical assistance and tourist information, now on 223 stretches of road covering more than 37,000 kilometers of travel in the 32 states of Mexico.
