#IMSS.- The general director of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), Zoé Robledo, and the governor of Chiapas, Rutilio Escandón Cadenas, headed a work meeting to supervise the progress of the construction of the General Zone Hospital (HGZ) at the La Chacona site in Tuxtla Gutiérrez, where 3,478 million pesos will be invested, of which 2,338 million will be for works and services, and 1,100 million for equipment, to benefit 257,000 beneficiaries in the region.

After touring the works in the company of the IMSS and state government work teams, the General Director of Social Security, Zoé Robledo, pointed out that the HGZ of Tuxtla Gutiérrez has a vision of the future and projection that has been given to the southeast of the country, and that «it has to continue growing towards an ever greater incorporation of formal employment».

«The challenge is for this hospital to be very decisive, so that the IMSS beneficiaries of Chiapas no longer have the only option of transferring to other units where there is a service that we lack today. That is why there are 43 specialties, that is why there are so many services that are not available today,» he added.

Zoé Robledo pointed out that during the government of Rutilio Escandón, IMSS enrollment has grown in terms of formal employment generated in different sectors, which is why this medical unit is one of the first to be created in order to meet an identified need that has existed in Chiapas for many years, but also foreseeing the future due to the works that surround the state: the Mayan Train, the Inter-Oceanic Train and the Dos Bocas Refinery.
