#Veracruz, #Ver.- With the aim of raising awareness among women about breast cancer prevention and awareness, Mayor Paty Lobeira de Yunes attended the Municipal DIF facilities to inaugurate the «Thinking in Pink» talk, which was attended by female staff from the Public Cleaning and Municipal Police departments.

The Mayor stated that these talks will be replicated in different universities to raise awareness of the importance of self-exploration, prevention and timely detection of this disease, with the support of Grupo Reto and the Universidad Veracruzana.

The month of October, was declared by the World Health Organization (WHO) as the «month of the fight against breast cancer» dedicated to raising awareness about the importance of prevention and detection of this disease.

«Today we begin with these very important talks to raise awareness of the self-examination that women should do, not only in this month of October, but every month to check that they are well, and also to encourage them to be professionally checked by a doctor through ultrasounds or mastograms from the age of 40,» she said in an interview.

She informed that they will be giving 500 vouchers for mastographies for all the women who are working in Public Cleaning and in the Municipal Police. «It is always said that you have to start at home, and we are also going to be giving 500 mastographies to the general public and for men we also have 300 prostate antigen tests, because health is for everyone.»
