#Ecatepec, #Edoméx.- Fernando Vilchis Contreras, municipal president of Ecatepec, and the honorary president of the DIF, Esmeralda Vallejo Martínez, gave the starting signal for the medical days, through which more than six thousand mastographies per month will be performed in communities of high marginalization of the municipality to prevent breast cancer.

During the ceremony to commemorate World Breast Cancer Day, the mayor reported that the municipal DIF managed to rehabilitate a mobile unit that had remained abandoned since 2017 by previous administrations, which was equipped with a mastograph, with which it is intended to tour the marginalized communities of the municipality to provide care to women ecatepenses.

Vallejo Contreras highlighted the importance of carrying out these studies to prevent diseases, due to the fact that breast cancer in the country is one of the main causes of death in women.

Likewise, the president of DIF, Esmeralda Vallejo Martinez, explained that from October 19 to 24 the medical team will be attending patients from 9:00 to 15:00 hours in the municipal esplanade, to later take the medical day and mastographies to the El Ostor neighborhood and other neighborhoods in the municipality.

She added that the caravan of medical services also includes pap smears, colposcopies and mastographies, to provide a comprehensive service to the women of Ecatepec.

Jazmín del Carmen Martínez Arteaga, doctor of the DIF of Ecatepec, reiterated that one of the measures to combat breast cancer is prevention, which is why she invited the women of Ecatepec to have a general health checkup periodically after the age of 40; she also recommended that women with family members who have suffered from cancer have a mastography after the age of 30.
