#Tlalnepantla, #Edoméx.- The Municipal DIF System of Tlalnepantla, headed by the Honorary President, Mary Gomez, presented the monologue «D’Mente», in order to raise awareness among attendees about the importance of addressing mental health and minimize such problems.

Mayor Tony Rodriguez, accompanied by the Honorary President, Mary Gomez, witnessed this staging performed by actor Ari Telch, presented at the Teatro Centenario, where citizens in general and students from different educational institutions were present.

«In our daily life, in society, in families and with whom we live with at all times, sometimes they suffer from one of these diseases and we do not understand the seriousness that this implies,» acknowledged the Municipal President.

«Those of us who govern realize the reality of our society and this great message, the testimony you give us and how you transmit it, touches us, moves us and makes us feel that we have a great debt with our society and we have to work hard for our children, young people and adults,» he added.

According to the World Health Organization, post-traumatic stress, anxiety and depression have increased since the pandemic, so it is estimated that in Mexico psychiatric disorders occupy the fifth place as a burden of disease, while 10 percent of Mexicans suffer from depression, thus becoming the third and fourth disability, respectively.

In addition, 30 percent of Mexicans have been depressed at some point in their lives, that is, around 33 million people, of whom only one in 10 will receive mental health care services, hence the importance of treating this disease in time.
