#SICT.- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT), through its agency Servicios a la Navegación en el Espacio Aéreo Mexicano (SENEAM), informs that the Acapulco International Airport is now operating with radar surveillance services that allow it to reinforce the security of the air operations of the humanitarian bridge that was implemented due to Hurricane Otis.

The general director of SENEAM, Javier Alonso Vega Dour, said that thanks to the operational work of the technical staff of this agency, it was possible to increase the capacity of the airspace, as well as increased flight traffic for the transport of passengers and supplies for victims.

It is worth mentioning that SENEAM personnel have been working since the first hours after the hurricane hit Guerrero, last Thursday, October 26. The intervention of 28 SENEAM specialists from Mexico City and Guadalajara, who arrived in Acapulco from the very first moment, made it possible to reactivate operations at the air terminal.

From that day on, the VFR (visual flight rules) system was guaranteed.

Among the work carried out, the daytime Aerodrome Control service, the repair of motor-generators in the Control Tower and the air terminal to supply electricity to the passenger terminal made it possible to use the airport.
