Humanitarian airlift from Acapulco International Airport concludes this Monday: SICT / @jorgenunol @SICTmx >>>

#SICT.- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT), through the Federal Civil Aviation Agency (AFAC), informs that this November 13, 2023 concludes the humanitarian airlift of the Acapulco International Airport, through which 4,694 people were transferred by 78 air operations.

Therefore, officially this Monday the International Airport of Acapulco, from 07:00 hours of the day, resumes commercial and general aviation operations, with the following meaning: only domestic flights.

From October 27 to date, through the humanitarian air bridge, 4,077 people were evacuated; 617 doctors, technicians and support personnel were sent to Acapulco to join efforts; in addition, 18 tons of technical equipment for telecommunications and food were transported.

After inviting the interested population to take due considerations, Aeromexico, Vivaaerobus and Volaris announce that as of this Monday, November 13, they will begin charging regular fares to the different places or fixed destinations where they offer their services, including Acapulco, Guerrero.

On the other hand, Servicios a la Navegación en el Espacio Aéreo Mexicano (SENEAM), the institution in charge of air traffic control, indicated that it already has operational traffic control; 3.5 kilometers of perimeter have been fenced; the roofs of the terminal building have been corrected to avoid risk to users; the cabin on the top floor of the control tower has been enabled, windows, air conditioning and cleaning; electric energy is already stable; water supply is available.
