SICT recommends wearing seat belts and not speeding on highways / @SCT_mx >>>

#SICT.- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) informs that wearing seat belts, not speeding, respecting traffic signs and not drinking alcoholic beverages while driving on the road contribute to safe driving and prevent accidents.

Before starting your trip during this New Year’s Eve celebration, put on your seat belt and make sure that those accompanying you do so as well.

When driving on federal highways, drive with moderation and respect the speed limits, as indicated by the signs along the routes. This will help you, if you are forced to make an emergency stop, to have enough time to make a full stop without exposing the occupants of the vehicle.

If you are going to drive, avoid drinking alcoholic beverages. It has been proven that driving with certain doses of alcohol in your system increases the risk of accidents by 100%.

Take precautions when driving; keep your eyes straight ahead and keep your distance from the vehicle ahead, this will help you to brake in time if necessary.

Use your turn signals to indicate your movements so that those around you can react in time. If it is necessary to stop, do so on the shoulders; never stop on a curve or in places with poor visibility, and turn on your flashing lights.
