#EstadoDeMéxico.- María Eugenia Rojano Valdés, State Secretary of Agriculture, and Lauro Agustín Becerril, Director of the National Water Commission (Conagua) for the State of Mexico, inaugurated two canals in Irrigation District 96, located in the municipality of Aculco, in order to make more efficient use of irrigation water in the agrarian nuclei.

These works are part of the coordination strategy promoted by Governor Delfina Gómez, through the Secretaría del Campo, with the Federal Government, represented by the Conagua, for the joint construction of infrastructure that optimizes the use of resources in favor of the rural sector.

The works will benefit more than 200 corn, oat, wheat and cattle producers in the communities of La Estancia, La Pera and San Lucas, since the water from the Ñandoo dam will arrive three times faster to attend 400 hectares of production, avoiding waste and evaporation of the flow.

Together, the two irrigation canals total 1,200 linear meters and were built with an investment of approximately 5 million 600 thousand pesos, which were contributed by Conagua and the Secretaría del Campo in equal parts.
