#SICT.- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) is carrying out 8 road reconstruction and rehabilitation projects in Acapulco de Juarez and Coyuca de Benitez, as well as a new sanitary cell in Texca, as part of the actions of the rehabilitation program implemented after Hurricane Otis hit Guerrero.

This was stated by the head of the SICT, Jorge Nuño Lara, before President Andrés Manuel López Obrador, after specifying that these actions are carried out in coordination with the Ministry of Agrarian, Territorial and Urban Development, the National Water Commission and the Federal Electricity Commission.

Currently, 5 road and trench reconstruction works are being carried out in Acapulco, while in Coyuca de Benítez work is being done on 3 bridges and roads.

Secretary Nuño Lara informed that another of the actions in which the SICT participates is the program for cleaning and waste management, for which work is being done on a new sanitary cell in Texca.

The federal official recalled that during the emergency caused by Hurricane Otis, the agency was able to reestablish circulation on the Chilpancingo – Acapulco highway in just 24 hours and in less than 2 weeks road connectivity was achieved at 23 critical points of the Federal Network, thus connecting Acapulco, Zihuatanejo and Chilpancingo.
