#GobiernoDeMéxico.- President Andrés Manuel López Obrador announced that he will send to the Legislative Power a reform to the Constitution to eliminate agencies created during the neoliberal period, dedicated to protecting the interests of individuals and not those of the Mexican people.

The extinction will generate savings that will be channeled to attend to the needs of the population, for example the payment of full pensions if the initiative to reform the laws of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) and the Institute of Security and Social Services for State Workers (ISSSTE) is approved, he highlighted in a morning press conference.

«Imagine what we are going to save because we are not going to continue maintaining these factious, onerous and anti-popular organizations,» said the President.

In previous six-year periods, he explained, the Political Constitution was modified in order to legalize and justify the transfer of the nation’s assets to private individuals and foreign companies.

«Although we have already made some, I am going to present new reforms to modify articles that were approved against the interest of Mexicans, reforms that were made in the neoliberal period, in the last 36 years, to favor only private individuals, but that is not all, they created their government because they needed to protect themselves and that is why they created all these supposedly autonomous organisms where the private, the particular, has more weight than the public», he said.
