#SICT.- The Ministry of Infrastructure, Communications and Transportation (SICT) maintains the «Semana Santa 2024» holiday operation in federal highways and bus terminals, in order to provide safety and prevent accidents, which will be in effect until April 7, 2024.

Personnel from the General Directorate of Protection and Preventive Medicine in Transportation (DGPMPT), the General Directorate of Federal Transportation (DGAF) and SICT Centers, in coordination with members of the National Guard, are participating in this operation.

The DGPMPT, through Operation 30 Delta, verifies the psychophysical integrity of operators, mainly at 8 highway points identified for their accident rate and at 14 bus terminals nationwide.

It performs medical examinations on drivers, consisting of: general inspection; intentional questioning; assessment of vital signs and ocular and osteotendinous reflexes and psychomotor coordination; examination of the cardiac area; detection of alcoholic beverage intake; and assessment of signs of fatigue.

It also performs toxicological tests for the detection of psychotropic or narcotic substances. Twelve medical units participate in this action.

Meanwhile, the DGAF and the SICT Centers check federal transportation units to verify weight and dimensions, as well as physical-mechanical conditions on federal highways. The objective is to verify that they comply with the maximum weights and dimensions established in the respective regulations.
