#SECTUR.- The head of the Ministry of Tourism said that during the month of May in the Punto México space, visitors will be able to enjoy and learn about the state’s tourist attractions, as well as its vast gastronomic and handicraft wealth, highlighting cheeses, liquors, wines, typical sweets, as well as products made of clay, ceramics, cardboard, leather and fabric, such as the famous «Lele» doll, among many others.

He emphasized that Querétaro is a land of culture and natural beauty, without a doubt a destination that should be visited more than once for its four World Heritage Sites; the marvelous engineering of its aqueduct, which is just over a kilometer long; 18th century Franciscan missions; the Peña de Bernal: the third largest monolith in the world; protected natural areas; fertile vineyards; and seven Magical Towns.

In this sense, he praised the importance of these 7 towns: Bernal, Jalpan de Serra, Cadereyta, Tequisquiapan, San Joaquín, Amealco de Bonfil and Pinal de Amoles, which together have 316 thousand inhabitants, 13.4% of the total population of the state, and 2,289 economic tourism units.

He added that Queretaro has everything to attract the attention of potential tourists from any part of the world, many of whom, after the pandemic, today are looking for open «green» spaces, and the coexistence with the communities to get to know their customs and traditions.

He highlighted that the «Lele» doll, named Cultural Heritage of Queretaro, has become an icon of this entity and has represented Mexico on the international stage.

He added that in Queretaro, Angeles Verdes currently operates with a human capital of 15 elements and 13 vehicles, giving priority coverage to 7 highway stretches, comprising 591 kilometers, with an average daily traffic flow of more than 180 thousand vehicles in high season.
