#GobiernoDeMéxico.- The Government of Mexico is working to resolve the power outage that occurred in some states of the country due to the high temperatures of the last few days, said President Andrés Manuel López Obrador in a morning press conference.
“We are already attending to the problem. We are working and the problem will soon be regularized and solved, in other words, it is a transitory issue and we are already taking care of it», he stressed.

The power cuts on Tuesday, May 7 and Wednesday, May 8 were due to a higher demand, which was controlled as soon as possible, he explained.

“Yesterday we were even on the verge of getting rid of it without a problem and there was also more temperature increase and more demand, more than 1,000 additional megawatts. On Tuesday, 1,000 more and yesterday, 1,000 more,” he explained.

The President explained that the National Energy Control Center (CENACE) maintains regulation tasks in order to prevent blackouts from becoming generalized.

“We are making good progress so that the entire system can start generating energy. I also remember -because sometimes it is forgotten- that half of the generation has to do with private companies», he argued.
