IMSS modifies 576 positions for General Clinical Nurse category and stimulates the improvement of this profession / @zoerobledo @Tu_IMSS >>>
#IMSS.- The Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), strengthens the recognition of the Nursing degree by creating the category of General Clinical Nurse, for which it transformed positions, provided a unique compensation and expanded the recruitment of human resources.
On January 5, 2024, the Letter of Understanding of the work of the Bilateral Commission was signed by the Director General of IMSS, Zoé Robledo, and the Secretary General of the National Union of Social Security Workers (SNTSS), Dr. Arturo Olivares Cerda; on January 22, the Bilateral Agreement for the Recognition of the Institute’s Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing was signed.
This allowed progress to be made in the implementation of the General Clinical Nurse category in six hospitals in different regions through a pilot test and the transformation of 576 positions in units in Mexico City, Puebla, Morelos, Coahuila, Sinaloa and Chiapas.
It is expected that by August 2024 more than 22,000 workers will be incorporated into this new category, which will have an impact on the provision of services to the public with healthcare professionals who have greater knowledge and skills in the performance of their work.
With respect to the single compensation for personnel who have a degree and professional certificate, 36,196 workers of the Ordinary Regime and IMSS-Bienestar received it, with an amount of more than 256 million pesos.
In addition, the number of nursing personnel increased with the hiring of 9,292 workers between December 2019 and April 2024; the categories of General Nurse and Auxiliary Nurse registered the largest increase.
