A few days ago, the Governor of the State of Mexico, Delfina Gómez Álvarez assured that for the current administration it is a priority that the people have access to justice, because it is a fundamental Human Right, and that cases of innocent prisoners in the entity would be reviewed.
In this sense, the Codhem witnessed the notification of the resolution issued by the Judicial Power of Mexico to the beneficiary, who was recently granted house arrest due to her delicate health condition, since she suffers from diabetes mellitus, arterial hypertension and is a cancer survivor.
“The State grants forgiveness and forgetting of criminal acts, therefore, by signing the respective document she has full freedom and owes nothing to justice, she can go anywhere with her head held high and exercise her political-electoral rights since her criminal record is erased,” explained Myrna García Morón, President of the Codhem.
Modesta N. worked in a tortilla factory in Jilotepec, she was sentenced for the crime of extortion against her boss; she was detained by the municipal police after being fired and harassed by her boss to have sex, which she refused.
