#SanMiguelDeAllende, #Gto.- With the third annual “Kids First” day, the Municipal Presidency continues to prioritize the health of San Miguel de Allende’s children.

Achieving great results for the third consecutive year, the System for the Integral Development of the Family (DIF San Miguel de Allende), attended more than 160 children of this city, reaching more than 40 successful surgeries.

Last Sunday at La Joya hospital, more than 160 children from San Miguel with problems of malformations in their lower trunk or any congenital malformation, were evaluated by a team of foreign doctors in charge of Dr. Billy Andrews, who performed a specialized surgery completely free of charge to 1 out of every 4 children evaluated.

In response to the specialized attention provided by “Kids First”, María Josefina Ugalde Sierra, from the Lomas del Salto community, pointed out that these kinds of opportunities must be taken advantage of, because they improve the quality of life of the children: “It is a blessing from God (this kind of campaigns), because these operations are expensive, so here they are giving us the opportunity and the support of being completely free. We hope that they continue supporting low-income people, that the doctors continue supporting us, because without this help we would not be able to get ahead”.

Complementing what Maria Josefina said, Mrs. Maria Cruz Carrera Luna de Palmita de Landeta, emphasized that each DIF campaign is an opportunity to help children and help them get ahead: “It is very important, especially for the children, so that they can learn to fend for themselves and no longer depend so much on us. If they are giving us this opportunity, we must take advantage of it, especially for the children”.
