With a literary and artistic program, the first edition of the «Filsma» concluded, where the importance of promoting reading among the people of San Miguel de Allende and its cosmopolitan inhabitants was emphasized.
In charge of the Direction of Culture and Traditions, the «Filsma 2024» came to an end and fulfilled the strengthening of the public policy of the municipal president Mauricio Trejo, to encourage culture through reading.
«Finally, we achieved and succeeded in having our «First International Book Fair». The book represents a whole institution in our lives, since we are children and we pick up a book to color, to see a story, a legend; as students, a textbook; as professionals, a specialized book and here we were able to see everything,» said Raul Vallejo, municipal treasurer during the closing event.
One of the key events was the presentation of Olimpia Coral, a woman victim of digital violence who raised her voice to create a legal framework to punish aggressors, thus achieving the so-called «Olimpia Law», which she spoke about in front of the public attending this literary forum of international stature, mainly to young people. During this symposium, a space for interaction was opened between the activist and those present, emphasizing the recognition of digital violence and how to punish the crimes committed.
