Government of the State of Mexico and Coneval join forces to consolidate a care system / @Edomex >>>
#EstadoDeMéxico.- Staff from the Council for Research and Evaluation of Social Policy (CIEPS), an agency attached to the Welfare Secretariat of the State of Mexico, participated in the 2nd Workshop «With States 2024: Towards a care system in the federal and municipal entities», organized by the National Council for the Evaluation of Social Development Policy (CONEVAL).
The purpose of the event was to provide useful conceptual and practical elements to define care strategies and advance in the design and construction of policies aimed at caring for, assisting and supporting people who require it, in order to promote conditions of equity in which they can access opportunities and achieve an optimal standard of living.
During the opening ceremony, José Nabor Cruz, CONEVAL Executive Secretary pointed out that for the normative and operative construction of the care system, the three levels of government must coordinate, furthermore, he highlighted that this autonomous organization counts with strategic information for its design and implementation.
The activity included conferences and panels in which federal and subnational experiences were presented, regarding the creation of this system, as well as information to characterize the people subject to care.
The workshop was attended by researchers from academic institutions such as the Universidad Autónoma Metropolitana (UAM), the Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) and the Centro de Investigación y Docencia Económicas (CIDE), as well as public officials from the Consejo Nacional de Población, the Secretaría de Hacienda y Crédito Público, the Instituto Nacional de las Mujeres, among other Mexican government agencies.
