#IMSS.- The Director General of the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS), Zoé Robledo, informed that with an investment of more than six billion pesos, 11 thousand health centers have been improved in 23 states where IMSS-Bienestar operates, which has led to an increase in family medicine consultations for the benefit of people without social security.
At the press conference headed by President Andrés Manuel López Obrador at the National Palace, Zoé Robledo detailed that in Nayarit, 280 Health Committees for Wellbeing were formed and have used 126 million pesos to improve health centers; 95 percent progress has been made in the hiring of specialists, 92 percent of general practitioners and 84 percent of nurses.
In the case of Tlaxcala, he explained that through La Clínica es Nuestra, 154 Health Committees were formed and have spent 55 million pesos on maintenance and upkeep of the units. In the 12 hospitals, 90 percent progress has been made in the hiring of specialist doctors, all the general practitioners for 112 health centers have been filled and 90 percent of the nursing staff.
He indicated that in Colima 118 Health Committees were formed, 60 million pesos have been spent in the health centers transferred to IMSS-Bienestar; 85 percent progress in the hiring of specialist doctors for six IMSS-Bienestar hospitals; 92 percent of general practitioners for 56 health centers and 80 percent in nursing.
In Baja California Sur, with La Clínica es Nuestra there are 49 Health Committees that have spent 34.5 million pesos to dignify health centers. In the case of specialist doctors, 95 percent progress has been made for the seven hospitals in the state, 96 percent for general practitioners and 81 percent for nursing personnel.
