#Ecatepec, #Edoméx.- The government of Ecatepec, in coordination with the staff of the Canine and Feline Care Center (CACyFE) of the municipal DIF system, have performed about 9,206 sterilization surgeries of dogs and cats in more than 75 neighborhoods through health caravans.
Fernando Vilchis Contreras, municipal president of Ecatepec, said that this year the goal of 10,500 sterilizations of dogs and cats throughout the municipality is expected to be exceeded, which represents a method of control and prevention of animal abuse.
The mayor recalled that just last August 8, as part of the celebrations for International Cat Day held in the municipal esplanade of San Cristobal, the veterinarians of the CACyFE performed more than 250 sterilizations of dogs and cats.
He indicated that these actions kicked off a large caravan focused on the sterilization of street and abandoned animals, in collaboration with civil associations, rescuers and animal protectors.
Sergio Chávez Bravo, head of the Centro de Atención Canina y Felina de Ecatepec, pointed out that the objective of these campaigns is to surpass the goal of 10,500 surgeries performed in previous years.
